Student Health Force aligned with MyPlate

Lancaster, PA – InnerLink’s Student Health Force Nutrition and K-6 nutrition-related lesson plans are now aligned with the USDA’s MyPlate just in time for the new school year. The goal of Student Health Force Nutrition is to improve lifelong eating and physical activity habits by using the principles of USDA's MyPlate as well as the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Updates include new MyPlate posters, coloring pages, and educational activity worksheets.

USDA's MyPlate captures what you see when you look down to eat and serves as a simple reminder of what should be on your plate. It emphasizes the importance of fruits and vegetables through a clean and easy to follow design. With the launch of MyPlate, the USDA wants consumers to take action on the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans by making changes in the following three areas:

Balance Calories

Foods to Increase

Foods to Reduce
